Design Roots & Process
To know about our design, we would like to put light on what we make. Akondo is being built everyday keeping in mind your manifestation for peace, stability and prosperity. So our products has to speak and stand for that.
To start what we chose is lifestyle products like sustainable, semi luxury clothing, which is our strength and accessories like artisanal handcrafted brass jewelry, and slowly pivoting to generational luxury products to make this brand as a business more sustainable as lifestyle heritage brand.
Our Design Inspiration : We draw inspiration from nature, it's rawness, it's texture and the microscopic world with a confluence of Indian historic architecture especially from Bengal, from Bengal's 'Bonedi-Bari' and it's culture to be precise. We found peace in nature, the gravitas and stability in the architectures and the sense of prosperity in nature's texture & microscopic world and the style of how old mansions used to interpret motifs from nature.
We found class and timelessness in artisanal hand crafted textiles like block print techniques, Dabu Printing, Batik Printing and Shibori, Applique, Kantha and other embroidery techniques, Handloom textiles and Pure Khadi, Natural Dyed textiles.
